[oldMain openHouse]

the annual Spring Old Main Open House organized by Penn Sate Lion Ambassadors was held on wednesday. it may not be a huge event but at least we got the chance to be in the Old Main building and also the opportunity to climb the bell tower. our bell tower may not be as tall as the other Universities’ but of course, as a PennStater, i would love to go up there at least once. the ambassadors made this event really interesting while walking with our tour guide, other ambassadors acted as previous presidents, football coaches, etc. bumped into us and told us the history of Old Main and Penn State.

later that evening, i received this card in my mailbox. usually, i’d simply throw them, but this is not a simple card with ads but it is actually a seeded card. today is Earth Day and we have to plant this card in HUB lawn and we could see the flowers in about a week.

will plant it on the way to our spring bbq today..can’t wait..i’m hungry..

by the way, RENT was great…

[Call on Allah in the GOOD times]

A reminder for me…

From the Qur’an:
When some trouble touches man, he cries unto his Lord,
turning to Him in repentance: but when He bestows a favor
upon him as from Himself, (man) does forget what he cried and
prayed for before, and he does set up rivals unto Allah,
thus misleading others from Allah’s Path.
Say,“Enjoy thy blasphemy for a little while:
verily you are (one) of the Companions of the Fire!”
-39:8

Lessons from this verse:
We normally reserve turning in
repentance to when troubled times come upon us. No, we are
equally commanded to turn in repentance when the mercy of
Allah is showered upon us, because that is the time so many
people attribute that mercy to other than Allah.

[A Smile]

smile
..pic from art.com..

A smile costs nothing,
but gives much.
It enriches those who receive
without making poorer those who give.
It takes but a moment
but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.
None is so rich and mighty that he can get along without it,
and none is so poor that he cannot be made rich by it.
A Smile creates happiness in the home,
fosters goodwill in business,
and is the countersign of friendship.
A smile brings rest to the weary,
cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad,
and it is nature’s best antidote for trouble.
Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed or stolen,
for it is something that is of no value to anyone
until it is given away.
Some people are too tired to give you a smile,
Give them one of yours,
as none needs a smile so much
as he who has no more to give.
