a lot of things happen this week. both the expected and the unexpected..haha.. 😉
first midterm exams finally over, and my next exam would be 2 weeks from now. as expected didn’t do well in my INS class. if i were given extra one more day insyaAllah boleh..but its my bad. last minute preparation since have been enjoying my birthday last weekend..haha..just hope its not going to be as bad as my math220 last semester. well, the exam was on Eid and i was over excited to celebrate eid..haha..thank god, i manage to pull up back the grade in the end and thanx to the instructor for the curve..hehhe..
last monday, attended SIFE meeting. i never knew about SIFE before, until someone mentioned about it and a few weeks later, i received an email about the club in PennState. SIFE basically is all about educating the society and applying the knowledge that we’ve learned in class. so, my group will be working on this one project about educating high school students in choosing their majors and also about some financial tips. Then there is this annual Sevice Trip all expenses paid by SIFE PennState. Usually only 5 students will be selected. I didn’t care much about the trip at first, not until last monday when only 3 members of the club came to the meeting. So, the Pres and VP decided that all five of us should given the priority for the trip. this year they plan to go to Ghana to help this organization called ‘Women In Process’ to set up their own business. Although I have received green lights from both of my parents, I still indifferent about it so what I did was I told the VP that if there is no other students that would want to go then I’ll go. in the mean time, I just pray to God for what’s best for me. And so far I haven’t received any news from him yet. But one thing for sure, I’ll be going to Philadelphia to observe the Regional Competition, so that we can have a better idea hows the competition looks like and hopefully we will be able to compete next semester.
Then, the dept. of economics invite some students to join the Honors Program for a year. Only 12 to 14 students will be selected. Basically, if we got into this program, we have to do honors thesis and we will have minor in economics. the selection would be based on the students result and interview. I just sign up my name for the interview, but I don’t mind if i do not get it since I know the competition is going to be tough. very tough. nevertheless, there’s nothing wrong to give it a try..right?..
another thing that i may want to try is to get into the SHC through the Jr Year Gate application. The application is due in March, and the thing is I have to do 2 essays out of 5 topics and also write a letter of intent. my writing s***. well, you can tell right…so i still havent decided whether i should proceed for the application. kna byk istikharah ni mntak guidance from HIM…
well..guess thats it for the week..I have lots of math papers to grade..and need to settle few important stuff..also, i thought i have no exams next week, but just received an email from my instructor telling that our first midterm for music008 would be this coming thursday..aaa..looks like ill have exams every week till spring break…
ok have to go for dikir practice..have a good weekend everyone 😀
